Lesson 30:

It’s easier said than done, but there are so many things to be grateful for in this world. There are negative things, but there’s so much good and I feel like when you’re hit what seems like a lot of negatives, you must look for the good around you. Finding the good keeps you going and keeps your spirit strong.

Lesson 29:

Sometimes things happen and all I want to know is why. I want to know why these things happen, but understanding why won’t really make me feel better. I guess the true question is what can I learn from these things. What message do I need to learn from everything. Sometimes I like to just train and release thoughts and emotions, which makes me feel better.

Lesson 28:

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is the importance of reflection. I want to thank my instructors, and mentors at KMA Black Belt Champions, my instructors, Master Turnhout and Ma’am Laura, taught me to reflect on my victories and the lessons I’ve learned through the day so I could be a better person. That’s why I started these lessons, I love to reflect at the end of the day because it sets me up for a positive tomorrow.

Lesson 27:

When people do things, I used to think I had messed up. I thought they were acting because of something I said or did, or something that the people I knew said or did. But it’s important to remember, as in “The Four Agreements”, don’t take anything personally, another’s actions aren’t because of your actions, they are a result of their own feelings and circumstances.

Lesson 25:

It feels great to receive gifts, and I’m very grateful, I don’t know how to thank everyone for their generosity. I realized though that even before I got any gifts, I have everything I could wish for. Friends and family who love and support me. And the greatest gift is the moments I get to share with everyone I care about. Thanks so much, every moment I spend with you all I learn and progress to be the best I can be.

Lesson 24:

Have fun with it. It’s important to get stuff done, be serious, and to take action competitively. But you also need to have fun, because you get better results and you take off some of the pressure of your events. Have fun because you want to be light and really open and aware in every moment.

Lesson 23:

I’m really grateful for everything I have in my life. So often we go through life wanting more, and I’m all for that drive to be better, I’m that way always, but we also have to be grateful for everything we do have. Being grateful puts us in a state of openness. I’m so grateful for the experiences I’ve had, the lessons I’ve learned, everything I have in my life, but most of all the great people in my life who’ve taught me so much and love me.

Lesson 22:

Spirit is one of the simplest ways to be successful. If you have spirit and believe in yourself you can do anything. Sometimes we get lost in our busy lives, but it’s important to focus and move. Being aware and using your body helps raise your spirit. I’m a high energy kinda person, so I have to be moving and doing things, that’s when my spirit is highest.

Lesson 21:

The key to helping others and changing the world is to first change yourself. If you’re not strong in you’re positive good character, you won’t be able to influence.

As Gandhi said, “you must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

I must be the person I hope to lead the world to be, I must be my best to help others become their best. And it’s never ending, it’s about constant growth and change.
